AW Sips & Socials

pastedgraphic-1

Connections are created when we share stories, engage in conversation, and put ourselves in social settings. We have tremendous power to motivate and inspire by something as simple as dialogue. As entrepreneurs, it’s important to create moments to encourage us to learn from like-minded individuals and people across different industries.

AW participates in events celebrating entertainment, empowerment, mentorship, education, and Latinidad. The various gatherings help promote networking, connections, goodwill, and the support of fellow creators.

We share these beautiful moments with the community to inspire. We’re grateful to all the hosts and sponsors who make it possible. Thank you.

We will also offer an insider’s peek at AW’s social and personal journey. Check back on this section and across our social media for new content. Founder, Yvette Bodden, will also share a guide to favorite finds for the awakened woman.

2025: Events attended by Founder, Yvette Bodden.

February 2026: New York Fashion Week delivered more than runway moments this season; it delivered presence, personality, and beauty as a statement.

I visited the TRESemmé Suite for glam with celebrity stylists Marco Peña and Jacqui Davis, where the energy was focused and intentional. We spoke about the season’s defining hair direction, confidence, product strategy, and how the right finish elevates the entire look. Marco Peña and Jacqui Davis shared expert tips with AW on how to tap into your queen energy through hair that feels polished, healthy, and powerful.

I was invited backstage at Cult Gaia’s highly anticipated runway debut in Brooklyn. SHIRZAN 2026 (“Lioness”) reflected strength and femininity in motion. Founder and CEO Jasmin Larian moved with grace and presence, hands on, making final adjustments. That kind of leadership speaks without saying a word.

While at Cult Gaia BOH, I also had a chance to chat with Evanie Frausto about the Halo look, a soft yet commanding style that frames the face and channels effortless goddess energy.

The takeaway? Hair is no longer an accessory. It’s part of the narrative, fully integrated into the story designers are telling.

Lights. Camera. Action. Meaningful conversations in between.

February 2026: The Super Bowl LX Halftime Show marked a record-breaking cultural moment, with global superstar Bad Bunny taking the world’s biggest stage in a powerful celebration of music, pride, and Latinidad. The performance resonated far beyond entertainment, standing as a moment of representation for Latinos across the globe.

In honor of the occasion, Cultura Takeover, a social platform dedicated to building community through curated, culturally relevant experiences, hosted the Latino Bowl in New York City. The celebration took place at La Diáspora Restaurant and Bar, bringing together culture leaders, creatives, and community members for an evening rooted in connection and pride.

The event featured a live fireside chat centered on Latinidad and sports, with panelists Marcela Sarmiento, Senior Director of Partnership Marketing at Major League Soccer, Anissa Herrera, Senior Manager of Media Partnerships at the NBA, and Francisco Estrada, Talent Executive and Trusted Advisor. The conversation was thoughtfully moderated by Alana Meraz, Founder of Latinx In Sports, and explored access, representation, and the growing impact of Latino voices in sports and media.

The Latino Bowl was hosted by Annie Gamez of Cultura Takeover with María del Pilar Casal of SANTO supporting marketing efforts. Grateful to have enjoyed a night that seamlessly blended culture, dialogue, and celebration.

The evening served as a reminder that when culture is centered, and community comes together, impact follows.

September 2025: This wasn’t just a battle; it was a celebration of our culture. From Brooklyn Steel to the world, 16 Latino MCs brought heart, rhythm, and poetry to the mic, Red Bull Batalla – turning words into a superpower and truth into art. MC Reverse was the last one standing – lyrical armor on, proving that mastery isn’t just skill, it’s soul. He reminded us that Latino creativity isn’t quiet. It’s bold. It’s fearless. It’s generational. Our voices don’t ask for space. We take it, and then we build something bigger. Representation. Rhythm. Revolution. The next stop for the MC: Chile, where the world will feel the power of his words.

September 2025: AW was honored to be in attendance at the 38th Annual Hispanic Heritage Awards, held at the historic Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C. For nearly four decades, the Awards have stood as one of the nation’s highest honors for Latinos, first established by the White House in 1988 to commemorate the creation of Hispanic Heritage Month in the United States.

Under the leadership of José Antonio Tijerino, President and CEO of the Hispanic Heritage Foundation, the event continues to shine as a powerful celebration of excellence, culture, and pride. Nationally broadcast on PBS, the Awards have recognized trailblazers whose contributions have defined generations. Past honorees include icons such as Rita Moreno, Sonia Sotomayor, Celia Cruz, Gloria Estefan, Ricky Martin, José Feliciano, Isabel Allende, Carolina Herrera, Juan Luis Guerra, and J Balvin.

This year’s celebration was no exception, honoring the extraordinary talents and contributions of Rosie Perez, Julissa Prado, Rauw Alejandro, Cheech Marin, Gloria Trevi, and Félix Contreras. Each honoree embodied the resilience, creativity, and influence that make the Latino community a driving force in shaping culture and history.

July 2025: AW attended Ron G – LIVE at the City Winery in New York City. Laughter is medicine—and in today’s world, we’re starving for the dose. I walked in expecting a comedy show, but what unfolded was a full-on energy shift. It was an intimate room, a hungry crowd, and two comedians who gave way more than punchlines. Fen G opened the night with his signature blend of sharp wit and real-life storytelling—authentic, fast, and gut-punch funny. I’ve seen his work before, but somehow he manages to top himself every time. Then came Ron G, gliding on stage with the kind of presence that makes you sit up straighter. He didn’t just tell jokes—he shared his truth, lifted spirits, and left the room better than he found it. If you ever get the chance to catch these two live? Don’t walk—run to get your ticket. This is comedy that heals.

June 12, 2025: AW attended the world premiere of Rebbeca at the Tribeca Film Festival. The film was a deeply moving, no-holds-barred look into the life of global pop star Becky G. Directed by Jennifer Tiexiera and Gabriela Cavanaugh, the documentary strips away the glitz and fame to reveal the beating heart of a Mexican-American woman carrying the weight of dreams, culture, and legacy—while navigating real pain behind the spotlight. The audience was treated to a panel interview with the directors and the star of the film, Becky G., herself. Then came the surprise: a stripped-down performance by the artist. There were no flashy lights, no autotune, just her voice, a guitarist, and songs you felt in your bones. These weren’t her chart-toppers. These were hers. Honest, soulful, and delivered with reverence.

April 9, 2025: AW attended the BELLA Insider RealiTEA Party at Fifty Four NYC, an event hosted by BELLA Magazine in collaboration with Miami’s Amare Magazine. The fun-filled night was a who’s who of reality television. Teresa Giudice and Gia Giudice were among the fabulous guests on the red carpet. BELLA is more than a publication; it is a modern, cosmopolitan lifestyle magazine. Its transformation into BELLA Media + Co. has turned up the content, covering fashion, mind and body, beauty, celebrity, philanthropy, art, culture, travel, and entrepreneurship in New York City, Los Angeles, and Miami. Its commitment to pushing boundaries and celebrating authenticity is only part of the appeal. It pledges inclusion and puts action behind its words. In 2021, BELLA launched a Spanish-language version, BELLA LATINA. In 2025, they inaugurated BELLA Boss: The Magazine for Entrepreneurs.

In 2021, AW interviewed Award-Winning CEO and Editor-in-Chief, Vanessa Coppes, for our Women’s Empowerment Series. She is the driver behind this beautiful, creative vision. The proud Dominican is also a fierce dreamer and a doer! We can’t wait to see what she does next!

March 5, 2025: The “A La Latina Dinner” is a private event hosted by @weareallhumanorg Founder and @alalatinapodcast Co-Host Claudia Romo Edelman. It takes place in different cities in the US and is about much more than socializing. The night is filled with connection, camaraderie, and like-minded women from many industries sharing their best advice. We seek to be part of a tribe and uplift others without hidden agendas. We hear stories of women in competition, but it’s not always true. This night was about collaboration and bringing others with you.

After the screening, we were invited to a Q&A session and reception with Jharrell Jerome, Anthony Robles, and Judy Robles. The group shared their thoughts on playing real-life characters, the emotions behind the scenes, and what it means to be unstoppable.

The second part of the event was the VIP Masterclass led by Caterina Valentino, a Miami-based Television and Radio personality, fashion brand CEO, and influencer with a growing community of almost 10 million followers across social media. She is also the host of these high-energy, empowering workshops, providing audiences with the dos and don’ts of proper etiquette in social and professional settings, and public speaking. Fabulous time!

We had the opportunity to sit with Jasmine Guy, Dorien Wilson, and Terrence “TC” Carson, as well as the film’s executive producers, Chuck West and Bree West. On October 9, AW attended the Macallan TIME: SPACE event in New York City. The luxury whisky brand celebrated its 200th anniversary.  The beautiful immersive experience was filled with wonderful surprises. Guests were treated to an exhibit of its history, including a peek at The Macallan Fine & Rare. Why is it special? In 2019, a collector paid a whopping £1.5 million at Sotheby’s for the bottle, which was distilled in 1926 and then bottled 60 years afterward. This tour was followed by a private tasting of Macallan 15 Double Cask and Sherry Cask. Afterwards, we were escorted to the Macallan Lounge for appetizers and special curated cocktails. The stunning event was an exquisite and memorable celebration for any single-malt Scotch whisky lover! Follow Instagram@awconfidential for more content from the event. Photo credit: Macallan

On October 8, AW attended the Women of ALPFA New York Impact Awards. Sometimes, we are reluctant to enter spaces out of fear of rejection, inadequacy, or feeling like we’re not enough. We hold back from entering rooms due to doubts about our ability to connect, engage, and believe in our greatness. Monica M. Ramirez was the Keynote Speaker. She is a Personal Brand Coach and founder of You Wanna Do What. She reminds us to confidently walk into those rooms and remember that our energy follows us. A network reception followed the presentation in a space filled with amazing Latinos who felt seen and empowered.

On September 7th, AW attended NYFW: Raul Penaranda’s Atelier 25th Collection runway show. Whimsical, seductive, and elegant are the words that come to mind. When we start building our dream, we have no idea what trials and tribulations the journey will bring. The goal is to put your head down and keep going in the direction of purpose and passion. It can feel impossible, sometimes. The one thing we should not fall to is fear. In a 2021 interview, Raul Penaranda told AW “His mother gave him wings to fly when she empowered him to believe in himself, remain true to who he is, and go for his dreams.“ It begins with a vision, followed by hard work and a relentless belief that anything is possible. In 2024, the designer was hand-selected as a member of the CFDA Fashion Awards Guild for the 2024 Fashion Awards. The Guild is an invitation-only panel of industry leaders and members.

On September 6th, AW attended City Winery’s Comedy Show in New York City. The lineup was fantastic! Comedians use their gifts for storytelling and to make us laugh. In 2023, after the world returned to a new normal, I traveled to Paris to meet my daughter. The food, wine, museums, language, music, fashion, and architecture are part of a landscape that writes its own love story.

I left my heart in Paris, but on August 15th, Lillet and Emily in Paris brought it back to me at New York City’s Boucherie! Fans of the Netflix hit were anticipating its fourth season return, and finally, the streaming giant delivered. We are relishing old love, new love, and Lilly Collins and Ashley Park’s wardrobe!
