Empowerment Series: Esmeralda Baez, Author, Founder, Elite Vision Media on Healing, Heartbreak, and Choosing Peace Over Potential
Esmeralda Baez is the kind of woman who walks into a room and changes the temperature. She’s a Dominican entrepreneur, philanthropist, and founder of Elite Vision Media. The Latina has collected enough accolades to fill a novel. But when she joined me on the AW Confidential Podcast, it wasn’t to talk about her empire. It was to talk about a different kind of rebuilding; the kind that starts after a breakup, chips away at your peace, and leaves you questioning your memory, your worth, and your sanity.
Esmeralda had never spoken publicly about her relationships before. But on this episode, she went there, openly and unapologetically. She described the love that starts with fairytale gestures and ends in emotional chaos. The kind that makes you believe you’ve found something rare until the red flags start waving in your face like a damn parade.
“I fell in love with the idea of love,” she said. “Not the man. The potential. I ignored my intuition until my body started rejecting him. Anxiety, palpitations… my soul knew before I did.”
Sound familiar? Yeah, I’ve been there too. And if you’ve ever loved someone who turned out to be living a double life, you already know: it doesn’t just break your heart, it breaks your grip on reality.
But what made Esmeralda’s story hit even harder was her honesty about the healing. “I forgave him and forgave myself. That’s when I knew I was ready to move on.”
We talked about the gaslighting, emotional manipulation, and mind games that so many women are too ashamed to name. The beauty did not hold back. She called it what it is: psychological abuse. And she called out the cycle that keeps us stuck, romanticizing potential, accepting breadcrumbs, and confusing attention with love.
“I’ve been with wealthy men and broke men,” she said. “But now? I choose peace. Mental stability. Because peace is my love.”
Listen, we don’t always leave when we’re supposed to. Sometimes it takes facts. Sometimes it takes finding a chandelier earring in your shower – true story (my own). And sometimes, the truth has to slap you before you wake up. But what Esmeralda reminded us is that walking away isn’t the hard part. It’s choosing yourself over and over again in the aftermath.
She spoke about going no contact, the power of silence, and the importance of surrounding yourself with the right people during your healing, not the ones who tell you what you want to hear, but the ones who tell you the harsh truth.
Her biggest truth bomb?
“Don’t ignore the red flags. Love yourself. Put yourself first. God first. And get your bag.”
This episode wasn’t just a conversation. It was a mirror held up to every woman who’s ever stayed too long, doubted herself, or confused toxicity with love. Esmeralda didn’t just tell her story; she gave us a blueprint for healing, reclaiming our voice, and choosing peace in a world that romanticizes pain.
To any woman sitting in a relationship that looks perfect from the outside but feels wrong inside – this one’s for you. Your peace is not too much to ask for. Your truth is worth protecting. And your intuition? She’s not lying.
